Clarksville, TN - Attractions

Follow I-24 North out of Nashville and you'll come to the 4 or 5 exits that will take you to Clarksville.

Clarksville is also Just Down The Road from:
Dunbar Cave, Woodlawn, Oak Grove & Adams.

Beachaven Vineyards & Winery - Enjoy free tours & Samplings of premier Tennessee-made wines and champagne, monthly jazz concerts in the summer months! Call them at 931-645-8867.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Museum - a museum of history, science and art. Contact them at 931-648-5780 for information on hours they are open.

Cumberland River Walk - The meandering riverfront walk is the center of this 200 year old city's River District. The Queen of Clarksville is anchored on Riverside Drive. Enjoy picnic's, the playground, flowering trees and the plaza overlook. You can find out more by calling 931-645-7476.

Downtown Architectural Historic District - Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the district includes the county courthouse, public square, churches with elegant stained glass and dominant spires, and 19th century business houses. Fort Campbell Military Reservation/Don F. Pratt Museum - Fort Campbell is the home of the famed 101st Airborne Division-Air Assault of the U.S. Army. The historical center of the army post follows development form World War I through modern technology. Contact them at 502-798-3215.

Fort Defiance/Sevier Station - A stone block house built by Valentine Sevier in 1792, Sevier Station is the oldest standing structure in Montgomery County. Call 931-648-5780 for more information.

Smith-Trahern Mansion - Built in 1858 by wealthy tobacconist Christopher Smith, the mansion has been fully restored and boasts grand hallways and an exquisite winding staircase. Dunbar Cave State Natural Area - This 110 acre site is honeycombed by caves and sinkholes, the most prominent of which is Dunbar Cave. Excavations revealed that this cave has been occupied by man for thousands of years, drawn by its constant stream flow and natural air conditioning. Fishing is presently permitted in a small scenic lake near the cave entrance. Environmental education programs including cave hikes are presented throughout the year. Port Royal State Historic Park - An area rich in history, 26 acre Port Royal is the site of one of Tennessee's earliest communities and trading centers. Today, it is a place of quiet beauty featuring a covered bridge spanning the Red River. Interpretive walks and talks are available on request.
