STATE PARKS

If you're looking for misty mountains and virgin forests, wildlife refuges that are home to an astonishing variety of plant and animal life, wonderfully majestic waterfalls plunging into ancient river gorges then you have to look no further than the state park system of Tennessee. Remember, Tennessee is famous for it's beautiful scenery in all seasons and Tennessee's state park system encompasses it all!

Regardless of where you happen to be in Tennessee a state park is Just Down The Road ®, usually no more than an hour away.  With a total of 49 state parks in the system, each with its own charm and appeal, there is something for everyone. Lakes for fishing, swimming, boating, championship golf courses, resort inns and restaurants, cozy cabins and chalets and meeting facilities. If camping is your favorite activity you will find more than 2600 sites in the state park system. remember that all campsites are available on a first come, first served basis.
