***** Tennessee State Parks*****

Cedars of Lebanon State Park - Named for the Cedars of Lebanon that once existed in the land of King Solomon, the trees you find there are not exactly cedar trees. (Sounds like being a little bit pregnant doesn't it.) They are Eastern Junipers. History tells us that prior to the 1930's the area was clear cut. The trees were valuable for pencils, cedar oil, and cross-ties. It was in the 1930's that the Civilian Conservation Corps replanted the area. Now, during the annual wildflower tours held each April, you'll find over 20 native wildflowers in the cedar glades . The park is located at 328 Cedar Forest Rd., Lebanon, TN 37087, or you can call them at 615-443-2769 for additional information.
