To get to Sparta from Nashville take I-40 East from Nashville and exit South onto Hwy. 111. (Just before the Cookeville exit.) Follow Hwy. 111 through Hamptons Crossroads and on into Sparta.

Golden Mountain Park - 300 acre family park offering sports fields and arcade games. Call 931-526-5253.

Rock House Shrine - Constructed in 1835, it was operated as a stage coach inn, frequented by Andrew Jackson on trips from Nashville to Washington. Call 931-738-5101.

Sparta Amphitheater - The city sponsors two free concerts each month. Seats 500 with gazebo concession stand, may be reserved by individuals or groups. Located on: Liberty Square you can call them at: 931-836-3248 for additional information.

Virgin Falls - formed by an underground stream that emerges from a cave, drops over a 110 foot cliff, and goes back into a cave at the bottom. Overlooks, other streams, caves and a primitive backpack camping area. You should allow 6 to 8 hrs. for the complete 8 mile hike. Located at Scott Gulf Road contact the White County Chamber of Commerce at the above address and phone number for additional information.

The Beachwood Restaurant - Enjoy the rich ambiance of the old south in this Antebellum mansion when you dine at Chef Dave's and Carolyn's 1820 plantation home. The Beachwood, situated on four park like acres, is the place for elegant, affordable dining, the perfect setting for the wedding of your dreams, corporate entertaining, private banquets and parties. You can choose a warm, romantic candlelight dinner or an hors d'oeuvre reception.
Where's It Located? Follow I-40 East to Cookeville, exit at third exit, turn right. Follow Hwy. 111 ten miles, get off at first Sparta exit, turn right and go 1/4 mile.

Lunch Tuesday through Friday 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Burgess Falls State Natural Area - A steam side nature trail winds through lush woodlands descending below scenic limestone cliffs to the still waters of Center Hill Lake. Falling Water River offers its beautiful cascades, the remnants of historic waterworks, and the plunging Burgess Falls. Picnic facilities are available. Located at: 4000 Burgess Falls Drive, just off State Route 135, you can call them at 615-432-5312 for additional information.
