Artistry of Space; The NASA Art Program, the current exhibition, consists of 78 artworks from more than 50 American artists, including Peter Max, Robert McCall, Robert Rauschenberg, Norman Rockwell, Andy Warhol and James Wyeth. Artistry of Space is a rich visual record of space exploration that captures the excitement and energy of the NASA Space Program. Housed in three gallery cars, the exhibition chronicles almost four decades of NASA history. It will tour through 2002. Artrain USA tours nationally and visits up to 40 communities annually, staying in each town for approximately a week. The museum attracts an average of 100,000+ visitors per year. Communities with populations as small as 300 and as large as 3 million have sponsored Artrain USA. Rural areas without museums as well as culturally diverse centers benefit from an Artrain USA visit because our unique museum-in-a-train facility attracts non-traditional audiences as well as established "art lovers." People of all ages, all levels of art knowledge as well as train enthusiasts learn from an Artrain USA visit. |

Artists & Communities: America Creates for the Millennium is a national program engaging over 56 of the country's most skilled and professional artists in communities in each state and jurisdiction of the US throughout 2000.
Artists & Communities recognizes the talents, skills, and education that artists bring to the exploration of important and sometimes difficult issues. The program offers community members opportunity to work directly with these innovative problem-solvers in addressing issues particularly relevant to contemporary America - values, family, health, community, and cultural diversity. |
Jeremiah Miller of North Carolina is the Millennium Artist who will reside in our community for a period of three months. He will work with local residents to create a mural downtown that reflects local values. The start date is set for August 15th.
