The South's long-running Oktoberfest, with German food, polka, and a street festival families have used as a fall outing since 1980.
Germantown closes streets for Nashville's oldest running festival. Expect live German music, pretzels and sausages, a children's area, and polka on the main stage. Evenings run later and draw a bigger adult crowd; late morning and early afternoon are the easier window with kids.

Strollers work on the closed streets. Food vendors can handle a simple kid meal. Confirm the day's kids' activities on the festival site before you go.
